Zoo Boise says its 14-year-old Amur tiger has returned to her exhibit following spinal surgery in October after suffering a herniated disc that resulted in paralysis in her hind legs.
Since then, she has been off exhibit recovering from surgery and slowly regaining mobility in her hind legs.
Officials say visitors may see Katarina be a little wobbly at times and may stumble at times. She also has a pressure sort on her left hip that’s healing. While she continues to regain her strength, Katarina will have the option to stay inside her den if and when she chooses, so she may not always be visible in her exhibit.
