First Lady Melania Trump was criticized for wearing a jacket that read “I REALLY DON’T CARE. DO U?” on her tour of an immigrant children detention center in Texas. Many felt the first lady deliberately made the fashion choice in order to rile up liberals and mock kids being held in cages. But others say everyone needs to calm down, it’s just a jacket. What do you think?
First Lady Melania Trump chose to wear a jacket that read “I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” while visiting children held in a Texas detention center. Unsurprisingly, Twitter was not happy.
While every other living first lady condemned the separation of children from their parents, Melania chose to send a message of “I don’t care.”
Rosalynn Carter: “disgraceful and a shame to our country”
Laura Bush: "zero-tolerance policy is cruel and immoral"
Hillary Clinton: "this is a moral and humanitarian crisis"
Michelle Obama: "sometimes truth transcends party"
Melania Trump: "I really don't care, do u?"

Even if it wasn’t on purpose, wearing a jacket that literally says “I don’t care” while visiting children is just bad optics.
Let's just talk facts. Melania Trump flies to Texas to meet with immigrant children separated from their parents. Good for her. She wears a jacket that says "I really don't care." This is tone deaf at best. Why would anyone wear a jacket that says "I don't care" any time?

Melania’s spokesperson said there was “no hidden message” in the jacket. Everyone needs to calm down and focus on issues that actually matter.
The liberal media claims to care so much about illegal immigrant children. But instead of focusing on a roundtable w/ the caregivers of these kids where @FLOTUS compassionately inquired about their condition & well-being, the lib media spent an entire day on fashion. Wow! pic.twitter.com/Pd80cj1KoY

NEW: @FLOTUS spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham when asked what message the first lady's jacket intends to send: "It's a jacket. There was no hidden message. After today's important visit to Texas, I hope this isn't what the media is going to choose to focus on."

But the jacket hardly contained a “hidden message,” the message was painted in huge white letters for everyone to see.
I agree that there is no "hidden message" when the message is PAINTED IN GIANT LETTERS ON THE BACK FOR EVERYONE TO READ https://t.co/1Z9S3wno3E

Donald Trump offered an alternative explanation, claiming the jacket was mocking the media, not the children.
“I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?” written on the back of Melania’s jacket, refers to the Fake News Media. Melania has learned how dishonest they are, and she truly no longer cares!
