Alante Brown is coming back home to play his college football.
The three-star athlete from Chicago announced his verbal commitment to Michigan State on Sunday night.
“I would like to announce that I am 110 percent committed to Michigan State University,” he wrote.
Brown is listed as an athlete by recruiting services and plays quarterback for Chicago Simeon, but he told 247sports that he will play wide receiver for Michigan State.
Brown (5-foot-10, 181 pounds) also told 247sports that he was born in East Lansing and still has family in the area.
The commitment comes just days after Brown was offered a scholarship following a Michigan State football camp over the weekend.
Brown is the 12th commitment in the Spartans’ 2019 class and second this week, after five-star offensive lineman Devontae Dobbs committed on Monday. Brown is rated the No. 24 player in the state of Illinois.
