No matter your relationship status this Valentines Day everyone was welcome to take part in Run for Luv Saturday at Ann Morrison Park.
This wasn’t the first time couples on the Idaho Beef Council’s Team Beef took part in the event, showing their love for running, healthy lifestyle, each other and of course beef.
Team Beef athletes ditched the Valentines Day costumes many other’s wore during the half marathon, 10k, and 5k runs instead promoting what the group calls the “fuel for the finish”.
They explained the importance of supporting one another while striving to be more heart healthy through nutrition and exercise.
“We can complain together, commiserate together,”says Team Beef runner Stephanie Gianchetta. “Last year we did six ultra marathons and a number of those we did together and held each other’s hands as we crossed the finish line and it really got us through the toughest times and then we get to celebrate after together so it’s great.”
“I do my run at my pace. He does his run at his pace and then we kiss at the end,” explains Team Beef runner Elsa Cervantes.
Team Beef’s Keith Moreland adding, “there’s nothing better than a steak dinner after a marathon.”
Running is a big part of their relationships and today was a fun opportunity to celebrate that.
As for their actual valentines day plans no running is involved but maybe they’ll have a nice steak dinner.
