A burning snag snapped and killed Trenton Johnson a year ago today.
He was fighting a wildfire near Seeley Lake.
The 19-year-old graduated Hellgate High School in Missoula with honors.
He was a standout lacrosse player.
Today, friends and family are hiking up to a cairn dedicated to Trenton near Seeley Lake.
They will leave stones they have written messages on.
