The Michigan couple wanted in the death of a 4-year-old was arraigned in a Lowndes County Court.
The couple, Brad Fields and Candice Diaz, entered the courtroom Wednesday with their heads down and arms crossed as a judge read their charges to them.
The two are both facing charges of felony murder.
Diaz and Fields both waived the process of having the governor of Michigan request extradition, in which both could have remained in Lowndes County for up to 90 days.
In doing so, Michigan law enforcement will come and pick them up within the next ten days.
The investigation began after police responded to the home in Sumpter Township, Michigan, and the child wasn’t breathing. She later died at the hospital.
The coroner ruled her death a homicide due to signs of battered child syndrome.
