The Central Valley has no idea how much fun it’s about to have.
Save for the red paw print stamped on the massive resort building, Great Wolf Lodge looks like any other large family hotel. But inside, these resorts house the biggest indoor water parks in the country. And now, Great Wolf is coming to Manteca.
The Chicago-based chain is opening the Northern California resort — its 19th — in the first half of 2020, bringing 95,000 square feet of splashing fun, 45,000 square feet of family entertainment and 500 rooms and wolf den-inspired suites, as well as several eateries to the 26-acre property.
We checked out California’s first Great Wolf Lodge after it opened in Garden Grove, just a few miles from Disneyland, back in 2017. And let’s just say we almost had more fun with the Wolf than with the black-eared Mouse. Think body slides, tube slides, raft rides and activity pools heated to a comfy 84 degrees. It’s a dizzying array of options and the kids may never actually get their fill unless you stay for, like, a week.
Add to that the Great Wolf Adventure Park, which includes a multi-level ropes course, miniature golf, an arcade and MagiQuest, Great Wolf Lodge’s live-action adventure game, and you may never leave. Those looking for a more mellow experience will enjoy the daily fireplace story times and Yoga Tails, a morning exercise geared toward the little ones.
Construction on the year-round, family-friendly resort begins later this year. For more information, visit Great Wolf’s website.
