The public is asked to avoid the area on Highway 21 as fire crews work to contain about a 250 acre large fire on steep terrain, according to the Idaho Department of Lands.
A press release from the department of lands expects the fire near Highway 21 and mile marker 21 to be contained by 9 p.m. today.
No evacuations have been made and no structures are currently threatened, according to the press release.
The fire was reported around 4 p.m. Sunday on Highway 21 at mile marker 21.
The fire is under Idaho Department of Lands (IDL) jurisdiction, with assistance from the U.S. Forest Service and several rural fire departments. Helicopters, air tankers, fire engines and four hand crews are working the fire.
Those traveling on Highway 21 may expect delays and temporary closures as crews work on the fire.
