SHOSHONE, Idaho — A 30-year-old Hollister man was shot by Shoshone Police early Tuesday following a traffic stop and pursuit.
Idaho State Police say the officer pulled over a driver for an infraction within city limit when he drove off. ISP says the driver, Jesus J. Malagon, crashed his vehicle near 450 West and 580 North in Lincoln County.
Troopers say the 30-year-old got out of his vehicle and started shooting at the officer, who returned fire and hit Malagon.
The officer was not hit. Malagon was taken by helicopter to St. Alphonsus in Boise. His condition is not known at this time.
